Meet Sofie, my first 1/12 seamless doll — and honestly, I couldn’t have picked a better little model to start this journey with.
Sofie is built around the TBLeague PLMB2022-T04 seamless body, standing around 148 mm (14.8 cm) tall. With its flexible internal metal skeleton and seamless design, the body can achieve surprisingly natural poses for such a small figure.
What I didn’t expect was just how much fun she would be to work with. Sofie isn’t simply a figure I put on display — she’s become a miniature model for my photography. Posing her, choosing outfits, arranging furniture and experimenting with lighting and backgrounds have become just as important as taking the final photograph.
Her small size also creates an interesting challenge. Tiny adjustments to the hands, legs, head or body position can completely change the feeling of a pose. Learning how to make those poses look natural through the camera has become a big part of the experience for me.
Sofie was the doll that introduced me to the world of seamless figures, and in many ways, she’s where this whole photography project really began.
There are plenty more outfits, poses, miniature sets and photo shoots ahead for her.
So, meet Sofie — my first little model, and definitely not my last.
