Sofie takes center stage in this 1/12 scale photoshoot, wearing her bright orange bikini against a deep turquoise backdrop.

For this set, I wanted to explore a simple standing model pose with a little more attitude. The slight bend in her legs, shift of the hips and asymmetrical placement of her arms give her a more relaxed and confident stance rather than having her stand perfectly straight.

This photograph is also a good example of what I’m learning from working with seamless dolls. At 1/12 scale, even tiny adjustments to the hips, shoulders, hands or angle of the head can make a surprisingly large difference to how natural the final pose appears.

The minimal setup keeps all the attention on Sofie, while her blonde hair and vivid orange outfit stand out beautifully against the darker turquoise background.

Another small step in learning miniature model posing and doll photography — with Sofie once again being a very patient little model for my experiments.
